Happy Birthday National Park Service: 127 U.S. National Parks You Can Visit For Free In 2016

by Kerwin McKenzie on August 25, 2016

If you’re looking for something a little different to do in 2016, then you should consider thinking about  one or a few of the 21 U.S. National parks you can visit for free in 2016.

To celebrate 100 years of existence, the Park Service is offering free entry on the following 16 days in 2016:

  • January 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • April 16 through 24: National Park Week
  • August 25 through 28: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 24: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

There are 413 parks of which usually 127 charge an entrance fee, so you should try to visit these first. You can find a full list and charges on their Web site.

Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll add details here as to how to get to these Parks using your airline benefits.
