Hints and information on how to efficiently navigate Las Vegas, Nevada.
Note: The information is subject to change.
Las Vegas, Nevada is served by one airport; Las Vegas McCarran, Nevada (LAS). Here is some information on how to get to the Las Vegas Strip and downtown Las Vegas:
- Shuttle busses are available to most major hotels on the Strip as well as downtown
- Purchase your ticket at the ticket booths at the ground transportation area before you board the bus. Prices range from 4.25 USD for hotels on the Strip to as much as 21.00 USD for hotels off the Strip.
- There are Shuttles to outside Las Vegas as well as inside Las Vegas
- The local bus, Citizens Area Transit (CAT) is available to the Strip and downtown
- Parking is free almost everywhere so you may want to rent a car. Be prepared to walk some distance though once you park, almost everything in Las Vegas is larger than life! Note however, that traffic in Las Vegas, especially on the Strip is horrendous so be prepared. I suggest just parking at any one of the hotels and then walk the rest of the way.
- Note that some of the car rental lots are off airport so give yourself extra time when returning the car
- One thing about Las Vegas is that some hotels offer a shuttle bus. You will only find out if you ask when you make your reservations, so please ensure that you ask.
- Naturally, you can always take a cab, but it will be more expensive. Just follow the airport signs to the cab stand and tell the agent where you are heading. In some cabs, up to five persons can ride for the cost of one person.
- Once on the Strip, you can take the Las Vegas Monorail for 3.00 USD.
- The entire journey is 14 minutes
