Toronto Area, Ontario Canada (YTO - YTZ, YYZ)

Hints and information on how to efficiently navigate the Toronto, Ontario Canada area.

The Toronto area is served by two airports; Lester B. Pearson International (YYZ) and Toronto City Center (YTZ). Here is some information on how to get to the city of Toronto and between airports:

  • Lester B. Pearson (YYZ)
    • To get from YYZ to downtown Toronto
      • Take the 24-hour Toronto Airport Express. You contact them via telephone at 1-905-564-6333.
      • This bus leaves from all terminals every 20 to 30 minutes and the journey time is about an hour to an hour and a half depending on traffic. You can pay at the kiosk outside the arrival area or on the bus. If you purchase a return ticket you will receive a discount on two one (single) fares. You can find fare information here.
        • Show your airline ID at the kiosk and receive about a 20% discount
        • You can purchase tickets online, but you will not be able to get the discount
    • To get from YYZ to YTZ
      • Take the 24-hour Toronto Airport Express to the Royal York hotel. You contact them via telephone at 1-905-564-6333.
        • Show your airline ID at the kiosk and receive about a 20% discount
        • You can purchase tickets online, but you will not be able to get the discount
      • If you are an Air Canada Jazz passenger, there is a complimentary shuttle bus from the Royal York Hotel to the island airport. The bus ride is about 10 to 15 minutes and operates every thirty minutes on the :15 and the :45 between 6:15 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Monday to Friday
      • There is also a ferry service that runs from the port of Toronto from 6:15 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The weekend schedule is slightly different. You would need to take a cab to get from the Royal Oak Hotel to the port.
  • Toronto City Center(YTZ)
    • To get from YTZ to downtown Toronto
      • If you are an Air Canada Jazz passenger, there will be a complimentary shuttle bus waiting for you when your flight arrives at the island airport. The bus will take you to the Royal York Hotel. You can then continue your journey by walking or take a local bus to your destination.
      • There is also a ferry service that runs to the port of Toronto from 6:22 a.m. to 11:07 p.m. You can then take a local bus or a cab from there into the city. If you are up to it, you can take a timely walk if the weather is good.
    • To get from YTZ to YYZ
      • If you are an Air Canada Jazz passenger, there will be a complimentary shuttle bus waiting for you when your flight arrives at the island airport. The bus will take you to the Royal York Hotel, taking about 10 to 15 minutes.
      • Then take the 24-hour Toronto Airport Express to YYZ. You can contact them via telephone at 1-905-564-6333.

        • You can purchase tickets online, but you will not be able to get the discount
      • There is also a ferry service that runs from the port of Toronto from 6:22 a.m. to 11:07 p.m. The weekend schedule is slightly different. You will then have to take a cab to the Royal Oak Hotel to catch the bus to the airport
  • Naturally, you can always take a cab, but it will be more expensive. Just follow the airport signs to the cab stand and tell the agent where you are heading or just stand on the cab line.
