Come January 1, 2016 No More Extra Passport Pages For US Citizens

by Kerwin McKenzie on December 4, 2015

I was in Moscow a few months back and it took quite a long time to clear the Immigration counter. The Officer looked over and over and over and over again at my passport. If you see my passport you’ll understand why :-).

I got new pages since I only had one free page when I applied for the visa. They require that you have at least two. My passport still have a few years left on it so I did not want to get a new one, just add pages.

Well, starting January 1, 2016, you can no longer add pages to your passport. I guess that will alleviate the issue I had from the Officer, but still annoying for those who travel more than the ordinary. The good thing is that you can still ask for 52 pages when you apply for a new passport so that should help a bit.

So if you need extra pages, you only have a few days left to do so.

If you wish to expedite your passport though you can visit a Passport Agency to do so, otherwise apply at your local post office that accepts applications as not all of them do.

Just so you know, you cannot add pages to your passport for the following countries, you have to apply for a new one. Check with your own country to be certain:
