Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance

Allianz Travel Insurance

We travel quite a bit as passriders and don’t really think about travel insurance. But we definitely should.

Just recently, a friend of mine slipped while touring in the Amazon jungle. This was a bad one, but he and his wife has travel insurance to protect them so despite a few struggles, they were able to be medivaced to Canada for treatment. Thankfully, he’s up and walking and on his way to a full recovery now.

Another friend of mine, Theodora’s son had an accident while in rural Mongolia and thanks to travel insurance, they were able to be medivaced to Hong Kong for treatment.

And one close to home, me. I was in Chicago, IL visiting friends and felt like crap. Over the counter stuff was just not helping. I was able to head to a local Doctor and got fixed right up as I heading international on a very long flight and did not want to be sick on the plane nor delay my trip.

I don’t say this to scare you, but to let you know that its real and as much as we travel, accidents do happen.

When it comes to the trip itself. You can also be covered for flight delays, cancellation and many more items. Just check the policy to see what’s covered.

Your credit card may have coverage, but as you may not have “paid” for your flights using it, you may not be covered. But if you buy travel insurance separately, you will be.

So, having scared the crap out of you now, nah, just kidding and being real, for your next trip, why not consider taking out some travel insurance from Allianz?

Thanks for the awareness. How do we purchase a travel coverage if all our flights are on  stby SA, how is this determined. I’ve got planned itinerary but doesn’t mean we’ll on it because we’re nonreving. Do we just give the city pairs etc. and approx dates?  I’m asking to much, does this cover medical, public transport i.e. Trains, bus, and or any land transport, also flying even were SA’s. Just ignorant please advise. Thanks much.
