Visa Information: No Visa Required For Up To 96 Hours Stopover in Qatar

by Kerwin McKenzie on September 30, 2016

You need a visa!

These four words are so annoying when it comes to visiting a foreign country. They usually mean money, delay in your trip or just not going.

The UNWTO (World Tourist Organization) works with countries to ensure that they have favorable terms to maximize visitors. They also show stats that when a visa is not required tourism numbers increase. Some countries listen some don’t.

I don’t know if they had anything to do with Qatar’s decision, but I like the new decision as now you can do short visits without a visa for 96 hours as opposed to 48 hours. So now you can explore the country a little more. This supports Qatar’s Stopover program which allows you to get a taste of the country and experience its people a little better. You can find the details at

The visas are free of charge and issued on arrival.

You can see the airports from the U.S. which you can use for nonstop service to Qatar here on the Airport Schedules section of It includes cities such as Atlanta, GA (ATL) and Houston-Intercontinental. TX (IAH).

Have you ever been to Qatar? What are your recommendations? Please leave a comment below.
