Note: I have to tell you that if you book a hotel via any of the links on this page, I may receive a small commission depending on the hotel you book. This helps to keep the site up and running and helps to finance my travels so I can bring you amazing travel information.

Marriott International Hotels is the second of the largest hotel chain in the world. It recently merged with SPG. You can find one almost everywhere you go. This is one of my go to hotels when I travel as I know exactly what to expect. As a child growing up in the country mountains of Jamaica, I did not have running water, electricity and used an outdoor pit toilet. The simple life which I totally love. So when I travel, I ensure I stay in nicer hotels. Actually, I always test the toilet to ensure it flushes, I’ve had cases where it did not and at that point its a bit late. We all have our thing right?

So let’s take a look at the Marriott brand and what it has to offer.

Loyalty Program

The name of their loyalty program is Marriott BONVoY. It’s still growing on me. It was called Marriott Rewards before.

Whenever you stay in any of the properties at non-industry rates, you will earn Marriott Bonvoy points. This may vary by property, so be sure and check with them.

If you’re not a member of Marriott BONVoY as I am, you should join. Being an elite member allows you to take advantage of all the perks. such as early check-in, late check out, lounge access, room upgrades, etc. when available. Elite levels are attained either by the number of nights you stay per year or sometimes credit card affiliation. For example, if you have the American Express Platinum card, you get Gold status.

Here are the levels of the Marriott BONVoY program:

Credit Card

Marriott has its own credit card called the Marriott BONVoY. I do have this card as I did it to take advantage of the deal where I got 80K points for a spend of $3K in three months. I basically put all my expenses through the card for three months.

The credit cards also comes with statuses and extra perks so be sure and check those out. One perks is one free night per year.

The current offers changes from time to time, you can find more details about all the card here.

Here is an offer that Marriott sent me via email:

Earn a 3 Free Night Award with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card. I can be rewarded too if you apply here and are approved for the card. Learn More.
