Best Iced Tea In Bangkok, No Kidding!
I took a tour with a new (2014) tour company in Bangkok called expique. They took a group of us through parts of the city not usually traveled. Seriously, this bakery/teahouse is located in a hidden neighborhood. It’s the Portuguese/Chinese Christian section of Bangkok on the other side of the Chao Phraya River.
You will be able to see Santa Cruz church in the distance. Walk across the bride, then make a right and walk along the walkway next to the river until you get to the Santa Cruz Pier. Make a left and head towards the Church, then turn right go across a very small circular courtyard, down a very narrow street, make your first left and follow the road around to the Bakery.
It should take about five minutes or so from the Pier, walk right into the Bakery which is right as the road turns left at 90 degrees.
The name of the place is the Thanusingha House Bakery. It’s actual address is So Kudee Jeen 7. Remember once you locate Santa Cruz Church go left if facing the river and in front of the church or if your back is to the river, go to your right.
So the lemon iced tea is not the only thing they make. They bake from scratch something called, Khanom Farang Kudeejeen. Yup, I can’t pronounce it either, but its delicious. It’s like a cake of sorts made with similar ingredients, you know flour, eggs, etc.
