Interesting Facts About The United Kingdom

 

The United Kingdom is made up of a number of states. On these pages, I will give you some interesting facts.

Wales

 

Wales is the portion that has a very rugged coast line and sits on the west coast of the United Kingdom. They do have their original language, Welsh and English is spoken there. Almost all the road sign and train station signs are in the two languages.

This town in Wales, has the world’s longest train station name, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch  at 58 letters.

 

The English translation is: Saint Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave.

 

I have a friend from Wales and he kindly gave me the Welsh pronunciation of the word. Here it is:
