Airports In The Path Or Close To The Path Of Totality For the Solar Eclipse Of 2024

April 8, 2024, will be a total eclipse. Here are some airports that may be in the path of totality or close to it. You can find the path of totality here.

Here’s a video I took of the Totality

Maine

  • Rangeley: Portland International Jetport (PWM) is the nearest commercial airport, but it’s quite a distance away.

Canada

  • Fredericton, New Brunswick: Fredericton International Airport (YFC)
  • Cape Breton, Nova Scotia: Sydney/J.A. Douglas McCurdy Airport (YQY)

This list includes a mix of larger cities and smaller towns, each providing a unique backdrop for experiencing the eclipse.

Given the expected influx of visitors and potential for significant travel disruption, I recommend planning your trip well in advance, including securing accommodations and understanding local transportation options.

Airports in larger cities like Dallas/Fort Worth, Indianapolis, and Cleveland are likely to offer the most flight options and possibly nonstop flights, making them convenient entry points for your eclipse adventure.
